Crash Media Partners is collaborating with Big Apple Comic Con for the convention on November 23, 2024. They will work behind the scenes to help bring guests and programming to the show, and they will organize a display of rarely seen original art for their Illustrated Word Gallery (opening soon).

Crash Media Partners is led by Scott Mauriello and Chris Parente, who are behind the Anime Crash chain of retail stores for anime and A-Pop culture. Big Apple Comic Con is led by Mike Carbonaro, who has 30 years of experience in the New York City comic and convention scene.

Al Kahn, the former CEO of 4Kids Entertainment, will be Crash Media’s guest of honor in the Pokémon Room. Kahn is well versed in toys and animation, his work made Cabbage Patch Kids a mainstream toy, he brought the Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh anime franchises to markets outside of Japan, and he was an important figure in launching the Toy Biz line of Marvel Toys.

At Big Apple Comic Con, he will talk about discovering Pokémon in Japan and bringing it to the global market, and he will also sign classic Pokémon cards. Crash Media and Kahn’s Kahnstellation Group will also tease their new Tru Existant line of collectibles.

Comic industry pro Joe Koch will bring his warehouse of collectibles and will set up in a room with Forbidden Planet. Comic writer and artist Howard Chaykin (American Flagg!, Star Wars) is attending the show and will be signing and sketching at his table.

Crash Media Partners is also working with Carbonaro to organize a new Independent Creators Alley to give small and indie creators the space to show off their work.
