Originally created by Brian Michael Bendis and Gabriele Dell’Otto, Daisy Johnson made her grand entrance into Marvel in Secret War Book 2 (July 2004). Johnson is the illegitimate daughter of the supervillain Calvin Zabo, aka Mister Hyde.
Not only does she possess seismic earthquake producing power, but she also has immunity to the harmful vibrations and psychic shielding. Coupled with her extensive combat training from S.H.I.E.L.D., and she is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Johnson was taken in by S.H.I.E.L.D. and kept under the careful watch of Director, Nick Fury. Aside from Natasha Romanova (Black Widow), she is the only other known agent to have gained Level 10 clearance, the highest possible level.
After the Avenger’s split following Civil War, Johnson disguised herself and began secretly working for Fury. He ordered her to recruit descendants of various heroes/villains to assist in the threat against the Skrulls. It was during this time that Johnson officially took on the name, Quake.
Working alongside Fury, Quake and her team managed to stop the Skrull invasion in Manhattan. After this heroic victory, the team became part of Fury’s Secret Warriors, with Quake as the acting field leader.
