East Coast Indie Creators to Attend Baltimore Con

A group of independent comic creators from the East Coast have been added to the Baltimore Comic-Con’s 25th anniversary event on September 20-22, 2024. The newest additions to the guest list are Vito Delsante, Dean Haspiel, Whitney Matheson, Charlie McElvy, and David Trustman.

Delsante is a writer-graphic novelist who has written for Action Lab Entertainment, DC, Marvel, Image Comics, and AdHouse Books, among others. His creator-owned superhero story, Stray, was published by Action Lab, where he also wrote Action Lab: Dog of Wonder, Actionverse, Militeddy, and Midnight Tiger Stronger. 

Haspiel is a cartoonist known for creating Billy Dogma, The Red Hook, and Covid Cop, and he illustrated HBO’s Bored to Death. As a writer and artists, he has worked at Marvel, DC/Vertigo, Archie, Image, and Webtoon on titles like The Fox, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Wildcat, and Godzilla.

Matheson is a children’s book author, cartoonist, playwright, and journalist. Her work includes the book We Make Comics, the play and short film Denny Barracuda, and she wrote the pop culture blog Pop Candy.

McElvy is the creator and head writer of Spider-Squirrel, Trash Panda, and characters in the Xion Universe. He wrote and published The WatchGuard Sourcebook and the follow-up The WatchGuard #0. Also an athlete, he has appeared in Men’s Health magazine and competed on American Ninja Warrior.

Trustman is an Indy comix writer-artist, mnemonist, and TEDx speaker. He is the co-creator and artist of the groundbreaking graphic series The Memory Arts which teaches ancient mnemonic (memory) techniques through vibrant watercolor imagery. Trustman got his start in indy comix as writer/artist of The Rise, Welcome to Karma Springs, and GOD Slap.
