Nosferatu, the fearsome vampire introduced in 1922, is making his way back to theaters. Focus Features released the first teaser trailer for Nosferatu, which is a remake of the iconic German movie from the silent film era. Bill Skarsgård, who famously played the sinister clown Pennywise in It, is bringing Nosferatu to undead life.
The teaser opens with Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) questioning Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz (Willem Dafoe) about the nature of evil. Other characters are introduced, including Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), Friedrich Harding (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and Anna Harding (Emma Corrin), as people start to sense the horrors to come.
The tension builds as nearly every character warns that “he is coming” and Van Franz declares that a vampire is on its way. This leads to the brief, shadowy glimpse at Nosferatu, aka Count Orlok himself.
Robert Eggers (The Witch) wrote the script and is directing Nosferatu. The movie also stars Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, Stacy Thunes, and Paul A. Maynard. It will premiere in theaters in December 2024.
