Rebels Gather, Thrawn Returns in New Ahsoka Trailer

The rumored return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the most dangerous leaders of the Empire, has necessitated a gathering of Rebels to stop him in the new trailer for Ahsoka.

Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), the former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, is on the hunt for Thrawn, whom she believes is attempting to once again become “heir to the Empire.” The trailer offers the first look at Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), and shows General Hera Syndulla flying Ghost and addressing the New Republic leaders, including Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). Some context is provided on the tense relationship between Ahsoka and her former apprentice Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and viewers see Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) doing some terrible things with his red lightsaber, before confirming that “We are no Jedi.”

As far as Star Wars continuity, Ahsoka is set after The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. In addition to the cast mentioned above, it will also feature appearances by Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Temuera Morrison as Captain Rex, and David Tennant as Huyang.

The first two episodes of Ahsoka will debut on Disney+ on August 23, 2023.
