Superman: Legacy Casts Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, More

With the search for Superman and Lois Lane complete, it’s time to fill in the roster of superheroes and villains who will appear in Superman: Legacy.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, who will portray Superman and Lois, will be joined by Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as the winged warrior Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as tech genius hero Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as archeologist turned hero Metamorpho.

Fillion, who is well known for starring in Castle, The Rookie, and Firefly, is a longtime collaborator with Superman: Legacy writer-director James Gunn. In 2006, he starred in Gunn’s first movie, Slither, and has since cameoed in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and played TDK in The Suicide Squad. After the news dropped, Gunn confirmed on social media that “the Green Lanterns show is not separate” and that Fillion will portray Guy throughout the DCU.

Merced has starred in Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and the recent Father of the Bride remake.

Gathegi is known for series like StartUp, The Blacklist: Redemption, Briarpatch, and For All Mankind.

Carrigan is a three-time Emmy nominee for his work on the comedy series, Barry, he played Victor Zsasz in Gotham, and was also in Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Superman: Legacy will follow a young Clark Kent as he attempts to balance his superhero and regular life. The movie will be the first film fully produced under Gunn and Peter Safran, as the new co-chairmen & CEOs of DC Studios. It is the first of five planned DC superhero movies, to be followed by The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Authority, and Swamp Thing.

Superman: Legacy is scheduled for theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
