Bettie Page’s life is kind of weird right now. First, she was cast in a movie – with no audition and no script – then flown to Rome to film with a quirky director and ends up in a bunch of dangerous scenarios. Then she was kidnapped, and her assistant Karen Beauregard came face to face with a Bettie lookalike! That leaves Karen, Bettie’s agent Ben Du’Met, and the Bettie double to hotfoot it after the purloined model/actress.

The new Bettie Page comic by Mirka Andolfo and Luca Blengino is kind of an absurdist comedy. The first issue had Bettie acting in odd situations and now the way that she is connected to her lookalike makes things even stranger. The book is definitely funny, but there’s also romance, action, and plotting that could take it in any direction. It’s definitely a fun summertime read.
