Writer Scott Snyder and artist Tony S. Daniel keep delivering different. The only thing the same about Nocterra #8, part two of the “Pedal To The Metal” story arc, is that it’s excellent, full-throttle entertainment from start to finish, just like the issues that preceded it. Also as with them, it’s full of twists and turns, as we continue learning about life since the Big PM.
The mysterious Blacktop Bill makes his presence known once again early in the story, but the tale is deeper than just another terrifying meeting with this preternatural menace; his presence in the first part of the story would be enough for some creators, but Snyder and Daniel keep building, filling us in on parts of this world, and letting the reader fit the pieces together.
So far, this series is Grade-A amazing.
