After a dramatic several days in which Kamala had to help save her father, defeat her own super-suit and maybe-sorta start dating Bruno, she’s headed to the county fair with her friends to blow off some steam. But of course, that can’t even go well – a demon appears out of a so-called fortune teller’s crystal ball and immediately causes problems. And when she struggles to contain it, a new hero appears, calling himself Amulet.

It’s no secret that I love Ms. Marvel quite a lot, and have now for years. She’s become a total star for the company thanks to the hard work of the creative teams that have worked on her book. While the last arc had some really high stakes, it seems like things are starting to calm down a little bit for Kamala now. The introduction of Amulet – who has, quite frankly, a very cool design aesthetic – also seems like it’ll play big into this storyline. Even without multiple lives on the line, Ms. Marvel continues to be a book worth reading.
