Super Nintendo World is leveling up! New details about Super Nintendo World have been revealed, particularly on the Donkey Kong Country expansion, which will include a new ride, food and merchandise, and landmarks from the video game series. That section of Super Nintendo World is opening at Universal Studios Japan on December 11, and it will be ready for the Epic Universe in Orlando when the park opens in 2025.

Donkey Kong Country is connected to Super Mario Land and fans will hear Donkey Kong music as they enter that area of the park. Once inside, visitors will see a crate bearing an image of Rambi and bongo drums. If three people can match the beat at the same time, Rambi will come out of the crate to greet them.

The Donkey Kong Country expansion will have a new ride based on the mine cart areas of the games. The story of the ride is centered around the villains trying to steal the Golden Banana and it starts with an appearance by Dixie Kong.

Before boarding the ride, visitors will see murals from Donkey Kong Country Returns and the original arcade game. The walk up to the ride will also include animatronics based on Cranky Kong and Squawks who will tell riders to scare off the Tiki Tak Tribe and Tiki Tong.

Throughout the area, attendees will find “KONG” letters spelled out as they appear in the games. Visitors can scan them with their power-up bands with new designs based on Donkey Kong and Diddy.

The Nintendo themed food will be at the Jungle Beat Shakes stand. There’s a DK Wild Hot Dog with avocado sauce and Cool Ranch Doritos on top and a DK Crush Sundae that comes in a barrel themed collector’s mug.

The merchandise will be at Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy, with exclusive material like Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong plushies.

The Nintendo Direct hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto can be seen below.
