ComicConnect Fall Mega Monthly Auction Opens October 28

ComicConnect is days away from launching the Fall Mega Monthly Auction on Monday, October 28, 2024. It features vintage comics and vital keys, plus signed books and collectibles from acclaimed artist Mike Ploog.
Ploog remains beloved for his work on Marvel’s Bronze Age monsters, with the innovative illustrator defining the look of a new breed of dark heroes such as Ghost Rider, Werewolf By Night, and Man-Thing. This Mega Monthly Auction features a selection of classic Ploog from the CGC Signature Series, along with rare foreign books showcasing Ploog’s art.
Fellow horror icon Bernie Wrightson is also represented with his run on Swamp Thing, including Batman meeting the bog beast in issue 7. There’s more classic pre-Code creepiness with the Mega Monthly’s EC books, from Johnny Craig’s voodoo cover for Vault of Horror #28 to Wally Wood’s wild cover for Weird Science #21
Silver Age keys include the second appearance of Daredevil and Electro in Daredevil #2 and Black Panther’s first appearance in Fantastic Four #52. There’s also Adam Warlock emerging as Him in Thor #165. A rare Blazing Combat #1 offers a roster of great artists starting with a Frank Frazetta war cover. Bronze Age keys feature the origin of Spider-Man’s black suit in Secret Wars #8, and the Punisher’s start in a French-Canadian edition of Amazing Spider-Man #129.
Additional highlights are Star Wars #1 9.6, Doctor Strange #1 CGC Signature Stan Lee, Batman #357 CGC Signature Gerry Conway, Deadpool’s debut in New Mutants #98, and a Gold Edition of 1990’s Spider-Man #1 9.8.
