ComicConnect Previews Event Auction, Still Seeks Consignments

ComicConnect is still seeking top consignments of vintage comics and original art for Event Auction 59. The consignment deadline is August 26, 2024, and the auction begins on September 9.

ComicConnect is offering first appearances and keys like a colorful Superman #1, Amazing Spider-Man #1 6.0, Fantastic Four #1 6.0, and X-Men #1 6.5. There’s an Amazing Fantasy #15 5.0, EC’s introduction of the Crypt Keeper in Crime Patrol #15, and the birth of the Marvel Universe in Marvel Comics #1. Along with Golden Age rarities in the Ruben Blades Collection – featuring Batman’s debut in Detective Comics #27 – there’s Matt Baker’s classic romance comics cover work on Cinderella Love #15 9.0 and Cinderella Love #27 8.5.

Event Auction 59 has new original art listings, including Jack Kirby’s time-traveling Thor on a page in Journey Into Mystery #86, Gene Colan’s splash for Captain America #134, and a page from Dale Keown’s Marvel work in Incredible Hulk #385. There are X-Men pages covering the ages, from X-Men #18 interiors by Werner Roth and Dick Ayers to Joe Madureira and Tim Townsend’s work for X-Men #235. Lee Weeks and Al Williamson depict Daredevil fighting Ghost Rider in Daredevil #295, John Romita Jr.’s 2006 Sersi cover for Eternals #3, and Jim Starlin’s definitive space-battle splash in Epic Illustrated #14.
