Film producer Eric Gitter and comic publishing pros Filip Sablik, Jamie S. Rich, and Jeremy Haun are joining forces to introduce a new comic book publisher.

As a film producer Eric Gitter has brought comics and graphic novels adaptations to the screen, such as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Atomic Blonde, and Extraction. Sablik has 25 years of experience in the comics industry in distribution, editorial, marketing, sales, business development, and operations, and was recently President of Publishing and Marketing at BOOM! Studios. Rich has 30 years under his belt as an editor, writer, and publisher, including group editor of Batman and Justice League books at DC, and as the Editor-in-Chief at Oni Press, Tapas Media, and IDW Publishing. Haunt is a comic writer and artist who has worked on books starring Batman and Captain America, and is best known for his creator-owned titles The Beauty and the Realm and Red Mother.

In the new venture, Sablik will be the publisher, Rich is the Editor-in-Chief, and Haun will be the creative director.

The currently untitled publisher will focus on the horror, science fiction, fantasy, and crime genres. They will also develop stories with the expectation of making screen adaptations, and Gitter’s own production house will be absorbed into the new publisher. They did not announce any titles yet, but have stated their plan to talk to creators now and start publishing books in 2025.

“The entire media landscape, including comics, has been reshaped the last few years and all of us are excited to build a comic book publisher designed to meet the needs of today’s audiences, creators, and the marketplace at large in mind as opposed to those from decades past,” Sablik said. “Heading into 2025, we believe audiences and retailers are going to be hungry for fresh stories that seed the next generation of original franchises and we can’t wait to meet them there!”
