Dynamite’s new Space Ghost series is getting its first graphic novel collection. Space Ghost Vol 1: With Only Ghosts to Comfort Us by writer David Pepose and artist Jonathan Lau collects the first six issues with several formats and options. It will be available for sale in November 2024.

“Greed and corruption flourish in the darkness between stars. The Galactic Federation’s territories are spread across the cosmos, far and wide in the vastness of space,” Dynamite’s description of the book reads. “At the scale of the cosmic landscape, pirates, hijackers, and other nefarious actors are able to slip stealthily through the pitch black, ransacking distant colonies with cruel disregard for the innocent scientists that inhabit them. They’ve often been able to get away with impunity. Yet a powerful force is set to put a stop to this, a cosmic vigilante who metes out justice throughout the known galaxy, bringing vengeance to those who prey upon the defenseless.”

“Combining superheroes and sci-fi with a universe filled with iconic characters and concepts, Space Ghost has been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve had in my entire career,” Pepose said. “Artist Jonathan Lau and I have been leaving it all out on the field for this series… whether you’re a newcomer or a diehard fan, we’re excited to show you why Space Ghost is one of the greatest heroes in the galaxy.”

Space Ghost Vol 1: With Only Ghosts to Comfort Us it will feature a complete variant cover gallery and a new introduction by Pepose. It is available in paperback and hardcover with Francesco Mattina’s cover from the first issue as the cover of the collected volume. A limited edition hardcover is also available with a cover by Michael Cho and it’s signed by Pepose. A paperback with Cho’s cover will also be available exclusively in the direct market.

The graphic novel will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ September 2024 PREVIEWS catalog.
