The second issue of Ninjak vs. Roku ended with a shocker when Roku stabbed Ninjak in the chest after they mind melded to find the Undead Monk. Now, Ninjak is struggling to survive under the care of his friend Neville Alcott at the Daybreak base. Continuing her search for Marybeth, Roku is hunting for the Undead Monk, who happens to be responsible for her/Angelina’s death and resurrection as Roku.
Writer A.J. Ampadu and artist Emiliano Correa do not pull punches in Ninjak vs. Roku #3. First, they show the lengths at which Angelina went to complete her MI6 training, then picks up in the present when Roku uses the same violent tenacity in her quest to find Marybeth. This series isn’t banking on the high-tech spy stuff in most Ninjak stories, but it is proving just how tough and formidable the two leads are when they are on a mission.
