Agatha Harkness and her coven cast a spell on the audience at the D23 expo. Marvel Entertainment dropped a new trailer for Agatha All Along, following the witch and her new coven on a dangerous adventure.
The series picks up after WandaVision when Agatha Harkness revealed that she had been messing with the Scarlet Witch, who had in turn taken an entire town hostage to create her own domestic fantasy life.
The trailer begins with Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), who currently thinks that she’s a police detective, waking up from the spell and remembering her real identity. Her next move is to build a coven of witches so that she can walk the famous Witches’ Road to claim a great reward at its end. The problem is that the Witches’ Road is populated by life and death trials one must survive before reaching the reward.
It teases the journey ahead, with Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) calling it a “death wish” right before Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) crawls out of the ground. There’s a green-skinned witch reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz, a witch clinging to the rafters, a peculiar house that replaces their clothes with 1970s outfits, and even more strangeness.
The D23 audience was treated to a surprise before the trailer when Hahn, LuPone, Plaza, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp took to the stage to perform the song “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road” from the TV series. The performance ended with Hahn letting out a cackle any witch would appreciate before introducing the new trailer and poster.
The first two episodes will premiere on Disney+ on September 18, 2024.
