A Lizzie Borden cover on Crime SuspenStories, Mike Allred Sandman art, and a rare copy of Tin Star for SNES are highlights in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, October 29-31, 2023, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction ends on Tuesday, October 31, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction concludes on Wednesday, November 1.
Horror takes center stage in the comic auction with Crime SuspenStories #13 CGC 7.5 featuring a “Lizzie Borden took an axe” cover by Johnny Craig. The Rifleman #10 CGC 9.6 with the infamous suggestive photo cover of Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford is also offered.
The original art auction is led by Mike Allred’s Sandman Family specialty illustration of Dream and Death of the Endless, Lucien the Librarian, Matthew the Raven, and Nuala. Kerry Gammill and Dan Green’s The Uncanny X-Men #223 story page 22 art shows Havok trying to console Madelyne Pryor after the Marauders tried to kill her baby.
The video game auction features a group lot of CIB movie game adaptations, including The Untouchables, Hudson Hawk, The Hunt for Red October, Days of Thunder, Rambo, and Darkman. A copy of the elusive Tin Star CGC 9.2 A sealed for SNES is being offered by Heritage for only the third time.
