Baltimore Comic-Con will return to the Baltimore Convention Center on September 8-10, 2023. The ever growing guest list has now added comic writer Geoff Johns for a Saturday-only appearance to meet with fans.
Johns is a New York Times bestselling writer, film and TV producer, and showrunner. He has worked on Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash, Shazam, Superman, and Justice Society of America comics. He reimagined the Shazam Family as a diverse, modern family; co-created Simon Baz, the first Arab-American Green Lantern; and put his mark on the multi-colored Lantern mythology in a decade-long run on Green Lantern. Recently, he launched the creator-owned series Geiger about a man who is mutated into a radioactive man after nuclear attacks.
He created Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, based on his real life late sister, and turned the comic character into the Stargirl TV series, on which he was the showrunner. For films, Johns was an executive producer on Wonder Woman, co-wrote Wonder Woman 1984, wrote the story for Aquaman, and was an executive producer on Shazam.
“I love Geoff Johns,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “He is capable of creating iconic characters, sweeping tales, sweet moments, and probably most important of all, the urge by the reader or viewer to see what happens next. His body of work in comics is essential reading for fans of the medium, and he continues to grow in new and fascinating directions. His fans won’t want to miss this limited opportunity to meet him!”
