Eat the Rich introduced Joey and Astor, a young couple about to face a summer-long test. Joey is meeting Astor’s family for the first time – his filthy rich family. Astor is taking her back to Crestfall Bluffs where he’ll try to stay sober around his family and friends at countless parties.

But there’s more to Crestfall Bluffs than just snobby, pretentious rich people spending the summer having parties and lounging on the beach. Joey learns the shocking secret that Astor’s family and the community keep hidden from the rest of the world. She’s left to consider if she can save herself or gain the status she’s always wanted – at a steep price.

The disparity between the haves and have nots is always fertile storytelling ground, but the way that writer Sarah Gailey, artist Pius Bak, and colorist Roman Titov illustrate it in this book is overt and gruesome. The creators dissect the dichotomy between the wealthy and the working class by showing what each is willing to do, or sacrifice, for their future. The subject matter could easily get heavy handed, but instead Gailey keeps the focus on the horror shocks and twists.
