The conclusion of DIE!Namite Lives is here, and it is messy. Peter Cannon and Red Sonja are getting ready to destroy the Earth with nuclear weapons while Jennifer Blood and Smiley have gained possession of the Necronomicon Ex Mortis. As General Fields and the army try to find a way to stop Sonja, Ash Williams is panicked and trying to get the cursed book back before something even worse happens – if that’s possible.
DIE!Namite Lives is thrilling and suspenseful, but not so serious that it can’t have jokes. Fred Van Lente took Dynamite’s heroes who are rough, sometimes screwups, and put them into an exciting event series that doesn’t get weighed down by its own pressure. Superhero event stories can be so packed with “reverse the polarity” technology or mythology that they barely make sense. This one is straightforward monsters and tough heroes. It’s bloody fun.
