Hake’s Auctions is entering the final week of their premier Auction #243, which offers 1,449 lots of pop culture and Americana collectibles. There are many interesting and exciting original art lots in the auction, such as comic pages, comic strips, product art based animated shows, action figure packaging, and more. Two of the impressive art lots up for grabs come from Aurora model kits for Marvel superheroes.

The Aurora Incredible Hulk model kit box lid original art was created by Neal Adams. The 12-1/2” x 24-1/2” artboard mounted to slightly larger illustration board features mixed media original art with an image area measuring approximately 8-3/4” x 23”. The art was created for use on the lid to Aurora model kits that were released in 1966, showing the Hulk standing amid twisted wreckage and two smoking craters with his fists clenched, an angry snarl on his face.

The Aurora Captain America model kit boxed lid original art is reminiscent of Jack Kirby’s art. The 19-5/8” x 27-1/2” Strathmore illustration board features mixed media original art with an image area measuring about 11” x 26-3/4”. The art was also created for the lid of Aurora model kits that were released in 1966 and features action-packed art of Captain America charging into battle, his iconic shield held before him.
