Comic Book Certification Services (CBCS), the third party grading company that grades and certifies comic and magazines, has created new labels that usher in “a new era of innovation and security,” according to their press release.
The new labels feature changes to the front, back, and top of the labels. The front uses the familiar layout with an updated logo, restoration is easier to identify, and a new design to showcase the grade. For the back of the label, CBCS added the title, grade, serial number, and a QR code. The top of the label has holofoil text of the title, grade, page color, and variant info.
The labels also showcase new security features, including holofoil, UV reactive ink, and CBCS-specific pantone colors.
“Collectors are the heart of our business. We listened and we’re the first to deliver. The new labels are the latest milestone in putting our customers first and striving to make changes that enhance the collector experience,” CBCS Director West Stephan said. “We firmly believe that these labels represent the pinnacle of quality and best of security features. The industry has been waiting for this moment.”
The new labels go into effect on October 23, 2023.
“To help the community through the transition, starting October 23 we’re offering a discounted rate of $10 for comic books/$12 for magazines for all re-holder orders received by the end of November. We are committed to serving our valued customers and ensuring their collections are both secure and visually striking,” Stephan added.
