Following the success of Afterlife with Archie which saw the plucky world of Riverdale dissolve into a zombie apocalypse, writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and artist Robert Hack have introduced Sabrina the Teenage Witch to the dark side. Chapter One: “Something Wicked” introduces readers to a story of dark magic in which baby Sabrina is born. The message of the story leans heavily on the notion that using magic has consequences. While the book holds promise as a horror story, it took a while to get to it. Hack’s art is reminiscent of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark which should make the next issue more exciting once the raised demoness does some serious roaming.
