ComicConnect is still seeking top consignments of vintage comics and original art for Event Auction 59. The consignment deadline is August 19, 2024.

“EA59 has brought in an outstanding selection of lots in the wake of a record-setting EA58,” ComicConnect President Vincent Zurzolo said. “That includes Golden Age finds from the Ruben Blades Collection, plus amazing art and other rarities. We’re still offering interest free cash advances to top collectors as sellers auction third party-certified comics, original comic art, and more. That’s cash up front, at no cost, before we sell a single thing!”

New additions to EA59 feature an Amazing Fantasy #15 5.0 with Spider-Man’s debut, and other firsts like EC introducing the Crypt Keeper in Crime Patrol #15, a colorful Superman #1 (along with the Man of Steel’s origin in Superman #53), and the birth of the Marvel Universe in Marvel Comics #1. There’s also Jack Kirby and Joe Simon’s Manhunter intro in Adventure Comics #73, a Captain America Comics #1, Wonder Woman’s first cover on Sensation Comics #1, Daring Mystery Comics #1 9.2, and 1941’s Green Lantern #1. Blades’ Detective Comics run includes Batman’s first appearance in issue 27 and pre-Batman issues going back to issue 1.

Jack Kirby leads the original art lineup with the title page of Captain America #194, matched by Gene Colan’s splash from the Falcon’s co-billing debut from issue 134. Kirby also has the God of Thunder time-traveling in Journey Into Mystery #86, Steve Ditko is whimsically ghastly for the cover of Ghostly Haunts #27, and Mike Zeck’s Captain America #269 cover that showcases his talent on the title. There’s also the Bronze Age artifact of a signed Frank Miller page from Daredevil #172, with Klaus Janson inking Daredevil, the Kingpin, Bullseye, Vanessa Fisk, and Turk.

“This exciting auction of top comics, original art, and memorabilia will launch on Monday, September 2,” Zurzolo said. “Our August 19 deadline for EA59 is coming up fast, but ComicConnect still has room for more collectibles. Advance checks go out the door as quickly as I get the comics and comics art.”
