ComicConnect is just days from the start of the Winter Mega Monthly Auction, and they are still taking consignments for Event Auction 61 by adding even more vintage comics and original art.

So far, Event Auction 61 features high grade Batman classics and Golden Age Superman comics, alongside Alex Schomburg covers featuring WWII art. New additions include a scarce Amazing Spider-Man #1 9.4 and Captain America Comics #1 7.0. There are more rare books such as Catman #15, high grade copies of Zip Comics #2 and #5, and complete EC comics brought together in 1951’s Tales of Terror Annual #1.

Golden Age greats include Bob Kane’s classic cover for Detective Comics #31 and Archie Andrews launching his own title as Archie Comics #1. Other firsts feature the Justice League of America debuting in Brave and the Bold #28 8.0 and the Sub-Mariner soars into the Silver Age in Fantastic Four #4 9.0. The Blob breaks out in X-Men #3 9.6, and Blade stakes out a big Bronze Age debut with Tomb of Dracula #10 9.8.

Attendees of Orlando’s Original Art Expo can get a first look at the new additions to Event Auction 61 on January 24-26, 2025. ComicConnect will be showcasing pieces including Adam Kubert’s scratchboard cover to Return of Wolverine #5, an intricate Tradd Moore page from the first issue of The New World, and Gene Colan’s mix of heroes and villains for Secrets in the Shadows: The Art of Gene Colan. There’s also Jim Aparo’s classic cover for Batman #341 and a splash from Tim Sale for his acclaimed Superman for All Seasons #1 – with more to come as Event Auction 61 prepares to launch on Monday, February 24.
