ComicConnect’s Event Auction 60 has launched alongside the Fall Mega Monthly Auction. They are offering Action Comics #1 9.0 restored, one of the three highest graded copies, Batman #1, Captain Marvel’s debut in Whiz Comics, and the Green Lantern’s first appearance in All-American Comics #16. There are more Golden Age greats like L.B. Cole’s cover for Mask Comics #1, plus Catman Comics #20, high grade rarities such as Jungle Comics #10 and Miracle Comics #4, and high grade pulps.
Fantastic Four #1 and Amazing Fantasy #15 start the Silver Age listings, and Amazing Spider-Man #129 9.8 marks 50 years of the Punisher shooting his way into the Bronze Age. Wolverine marks his 50th anniversary in Incredible Hulk #181 before going solo in Wolverine #1 9.9. Foreign comics feature a Peter Parker/Gwen Stacy wedding from the rare El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #128. More keys are found in the Tom Cook Collection, with top titles from the Emmy-winning director and animator.
The original art includes Tradd Moore’s Silver Surfer: Black #1 page, Adam Kubert’s Wolverine #88 double-page of Wolverine and Deadpool’s first meeting, Barry Windsor-Smith’s Marvel Comics Presents #75 art with a moment from Wolverine’s origin, plus more vintage Logan courtesy of Rob Liefeld and John Romita, Sr. There’s also Bill Sienkiewicz’s hardboiled cover for Moon Knight #33, John Byrne-signed Captain America #252 page with Cap trying to save Mr. Hyde, Frank Miller’s shadow play for Sin City: The Big Fat Kill, and Jack Kirby’s sci-fi splash page from Kamandi #16. That’s in addition to pieces by Jim Aparo, James O’Barr, John Buscema, and others.
