ComicConnect Showcases Top Lots in Event Auction

ComicConnect is in the midst of Event Auction 59 featuring the Ruben Blades Collection as part of over 2,800 comic books from every era, plus over 250 pieces of original art and rare memorabilia ranging from animation cels to Golden Age legal documents.

They are seeing heated bidding over beloved books like Sensation Comics #1, Detective Comics #27, Flash Comics #1, Superman #1, and the birth of the Marvel Universe in Marvel Comics #1. The auction contains Golden Age greats like Famous Funnies: A Carnival of Comics, and first appearances such as the comics debut of the Phantom in Ace Comics #11 and Mickey Mouse’s first comic appearance in Four Color #16. There’s also Flash Lightning’s debut in Sure-Fire Comics #1, and pin-up style covers on Superman #9 and #11.

Highlights continue with the start of the Justice League of America in Brave and the Bold #28, Poison Ivy’s debut in Batman #181, Barry Allen’s Flash launching the Silver Age in Showcase #4, and Marvel’s Silver Age debut in Fantastic Four #1 and #5 with Dr. Doom’s first appearance. The auction also offers Spider-Man’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 and Amazing Spider-Man #1, and high grade X-Men titles include a CGC Census-topping X-Men #50 9.9 and 1982’s Wolverine #1 9.9.
