Loki, Odin, and Asgard debut in Journey Into Mystery #85 8.0, and Tales to Astonish #13 sports the introduction of Groot, The Monster from Planet X.
New original art includes contributions from Jack Kirby with a Thor page from Journey Into Mystery #86 and a Bronze Age beauty as a nightmare gets broken up on the cover of The Sandman #5. There’s more mastery from John Buscema with the cover of Fantastic Four #117 (plus a guest turn by John Romita, Sr.) and Gil Kane penciling and water-coloring a Living Mummy cover for Supernatural Thrillers #15.
Jim Starlin provides an updating of a Tales of Suspense story via cover art for Where Monsters Dwell #20. There’s a George Pérez cover for Fantastic Four Annual #15 with Dr. Doom alongside Reed Richards battling a Skrull. The auction also includes work from Alex Ross, Sal Buscema, and others.
