Liquid Comics; $3.99

The first issue of Coming of Rage introduces a boy in Mexico whose family is being torn apart, a young man in the U.S. stuck in a cliché with a rich, powerful father who considers him a disappointment, and a young woman who currently remains a mystery. What do these three have in common? The coming of rage.

Sometimes anger can be so complete and wild that it feels like a beast. For these three characters, that beast is not only within them, it is them, and it is pretty nasty. The questions become: can they control it and will they?

Wes Craven is known for good horror. He’s the man behind horror classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, and Scream. Steve Niles wrote the terrifying 30 Days of Night vicious vampire tale. So it’s no surprise that Coming of Rage has already delivered some good scares. Craven and Niles’ story is brought to life by the art of Francesco Biagini and Liquid Studios which embodies the freakish rage these people have from the glowing heat of it to the darkness of its despair. Horror fans should definitely check it out.
