What makes the best comic book covers? It is a great topic for debate. For us, as individuals, there is no wrong answer, of course; it is purely subjective. But, with a little thought it’s possible to explain what it is about a particular image that grabs you. The best images are the ones that make you stop and check out something you weren’t previously planning to purchase – and in some cases, you even end up picking up a title you’ve never even heard of before.

Like its predecessors from way back in 2019, AHOY Comics’ The Wrong Earth: We Could Be Heroes #2 not a hoax or an imaginary story: Take one costumed crimefighter from a sunnier Earth than ours, as well as a darker knight from a grim and gritty version of our world. Now, imagine they were switched. With that, you have the spectacular saga of Dragonflyman and The Dragonfly, respectively, as these misplaced marauders from multiple worlds try to make their way on each one’s corresponding wrong earth.

There’s a lot to love about the two-part We Could Be Heroes, starting with the main cover by series co-creator Jamal Igle. Although not the first to do so, the cover of this must-read issue pays homage to Kevin Maguire and Al Gordon’s iconic Justice League International #1 cover from DC Comics, and features: Dragonflyman, The Dragonfly, Nightsting, Stinger I, Lady Dragonflyman, and Stinger II. These heroes may be new to you, but one thing is for certain: They are worth checking out.

Fun for either comic book collectors or pop culture enthusiasts, The Wrong Earth: We Could Be Heroes #2 is a must-have for “batty” fans everywhere – whether Frank Miller is your drink of choice or Adam West is instead your cup of tea.

Just enjoy!
