December is a busy time of holiday celebrations, festive meals, and general merriment, so it’s easy to miss news about the movies and TV shows we can’t wait to see. But never fear! Scoop is here to share some of the best trailers for highly anticipated movies and shows that were released during December 2024.

Harley Quinn

Max released the first trailer for Harley Quinn season five, previewing the mayhem that will follow Harley and Poison Ivy when they leave Gotham. Things are going great for Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and Ivy (Lake Bell) – minus the fact that Gotham is being attacked by giant rats, among other threats. So, the ladies decide that it’s time to move to Metropolis, where Lena Luthor asks Ivy to run a green initiative. The trailer catches up with Harley’s friends like Bane (James Adomian), Frank the Plant (J.B. Smoove), King Shark (Ron Funches) and his brood of bite-y babies, and Clayface (Alan Tudyk). Harley and Ivy will have to save the day once again, as Brainiac (Stephen Fry) is in space and ready to attack, and there are zombies and killer AI in Metropolis. Harley Quinn season five will start streaming on Max on January 16, 2025. The trailer features some adult language; it can be viewed on YouTube.

Invincible

Mark Grayson is dealing with new (and old) threats in the new trailer for Invincible season three. Mark (Steven Yeun) is being trained by Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins), and he is getting into better and better shape to fight villains as Invincible. But while honing his body comes naturally, he’s wrestling with the fact that saving the world and being a good guy aren’t mutually exclusive. Mark’s alien half-brother Oliver is adopting the superhero persona of Kid Omni-Man, their father (J.K. Simmons) is still dealing with the guilt of betraying his people, and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) is hoping that Omni-Man will fight by Mark’s side. The trailer teases the return of Titan and The Order crime organization, and shows Invincible in his new blue costume. Invincible returns to Prime Video on Thursday, February 6, 2025. There is some adult language and bloody violence in the trailer; it can be viewed on YouTube.

Snow White

Disney released the first full-length trailer for their live-action Snow White film, previewing the latest incarnations of the beloved characters. The trailer starts with Snow White recalling how happy her life and the kingdom were when she was a child – that was until the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot) entered the picture. Snow White challenges her stepmother, and the latter gets even more vicious when her magic mirror declares that Snow White is the fairest one of all. Snow White flees into the forest where she meets magical animals and moves in with the Seven Dwarfs (who are comically frightened when they find her in their home). Instead of becoming complacent in the forest, Snow White decides to fight back and restore the kingdom to its former glory. Snow White will debut in theaters on March 21, 2025.

Karate Kid: Legends

The Karate Kid: Legends trailer starts when Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) makes an unannounced visit to Mr. Miyagi’s home in the US where he tells Daniel (Ralph Macchio) that he knew the latter’s former sensei. The scene transitions to New York City to introduce young Li Fong (Ben Wang). Mr. Han tells Daniel that the boy is to him what Daniel was to Mr. Miyagi. Then the trailer shows Li being trained by both Daniel and Mr. Han, and fighting other kids in what appear to be unsanctioned matches. It ends with Daniel telling Li that they are “two branches, one tree” followed by quick action shots of Mr. Han, Daniel, and Li fighting multiple foes. Karate Kid: Legends premieres in theaters on May 30, 2025.

28 Years Later

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for 28 Years Later showing the new world and the threats from zombies and humans alike. “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well,” per the official synopsis. It will premiere in theaters on June 20, 2025.

Superman

The highly anticipated first teaser trailer for Superman starts with a battered Superman (David Corenswet) landing in the Arctic seeking Krypto’s help getting home. Important characters are introduced, starting with Superman’s mild mannered identity as Clark Kent. We see Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) at the Daily Planet, Pa Kent (Pruitt Taylor Vince) at the family farm, and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) at Luthorcorp. There’s a shot of Superman saving a little girl, a boy asking for help, and a mob of people who clearly don’t appreciate Superman. The trailer also teases Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern/Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), and Mr. Terrific/Michael Holt (Edi Gathegi), the romance between Superman and Lois, and multiple threats against Metropolis. Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
