It seemed like just a normal night – a woman runs out to get diapers, a guy catches up with an old friend at a bar, teenagers try to score cigarettes at a convenience store – but something extraordinary happened. The entire town of Oshawa has sunk into a massive crater. Days later as survivors who were outside the city limits wait for news about their loved ones, they get another massive shock: suddenly no one but them remembers the city of Oshawa.

Displaced sets up like an episode of The Twilight Zone mixed with a disaster movie. A few characters, who seem like average folks, are introduced, but so is one frantic old man who claims to know what is happening. Is it a government conspiracy, an act of God, aliens, mother nature fighting back? Writer Ed Brisson doesn’t reveal any clues about what has happened in this debut issue, which means anything could happen in the follow-up.
