Evil Animatronics Fill Five Nights at Freddy’s Trailer

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is getting a new security guard, and the homicidal animatronics couldn’t be happier. Universal has released a full length trailer for the upcoming horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s, previewing the mayhem to come.

The trailer introduces Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) a down on his luck man in need of a job who becomes the night shift security guard at the closed, dilapidated Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The problem is that the Chuck E. Cheese-style restaurant is filled with sentient animatronics possessed by children who went missing in the 1980s, and they want Mike’s little sister Abby (Piper Rubio) to become one of them.

The movie is based on the survival horror game of the same name that was released in 2014. It is directed by Emma Tammi (Western the Wind), who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. The movie is produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse in association with Striker Entertainment. The animatronics were created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Five Nights at Freddy’s also stars Elizabeth Lail, Matthew Lillard, Kat Conner Sterling, and Mary Stuart Masterson. It will arrive in theaters and on Peacock on October 27.
