Valiant; $3.99

Faith has been out of the spotlight for the last few months and a winter holiday could be just what she needs. Unfortunately, the snowy village she is visiting may not be what it seems. After finding a card that rekindles her nostalgia for a kids show from her childhood, Faith is pulled into a strange, exciting, and frightening adventure.

This story by Marguerite Sauvage is a tale of good vs. evil centered on Alice in Wonderland with a little bit of A Christmas Carol. It’s about overcoming the commercialism of the holidays and recapturing the joy of imagination.

The art by Francis Portela and M.J. Kim and colors by Andrew Dalhouse are clear and easy to follow, but also fanciful in keeping with the story. It’s not a cookie cutter holiday story but it definitely has a good message.
