Death is ready to unleash new creative deaths in the sixth installment of the Final Destination horror franchise. Warner Bros. announced that the movie, officially titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, will arrive in theaters on May 16, 2025. The movie is premiering during a busy period that also includes the debuts of Thunderbolts*, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and the live-action Lilo & Stitch.

The movie has been in the works for years and was originally heading straight to streaming. Instead, Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick announced that it will have a theatrical run in 2025 – 25 years after the first movie was released.

The Final Destination franchise began in 2000, introducing the concept of death having a specific design. In the first movie, Devon Sawa starred as a teenager who had a vision of his flight exploding, so he and several others got off the plane. After the plane explodes, the survivors begin dying in bizarre ways, leading them to realize that they can’t hide from death. The sequels built on the premise, all of which began with a character having a vision of a catastrophic accident, including a multi-car crash, roller coaster accident, race track crash, and a bride collapse.

Final Destination: Bloodlines is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, and is written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. It will posthumously star the late Tony Todd as Will Bludworth, the coroner who appeared in the previous films. The movie will also star Brec Bassinger, Rya Kihlstedt, Richard Harmon, Max Lloyd-Jones, Anna Lore, Teo Briones, Tinpo Lee, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, and Owen Patrick Joyner.
