First Swamp Thing, Jusko Illustration at Heritage

A Star Trek video game, Swamp Thing’s debut, and a Vampirella portrait by Joe Jusko are among the top lots in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction concludes on Sunday through Tuesday, February 18-20, 2024, Video Games Mini-Boss Auction closes on Tuesday, February 20, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction ends on Wednesday, February 21.

The video game auction pushes start on Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge WATA 8.5 A+ sealed for Game Boy Advance, which is both the first appearance of Banjo-Kazooie on a handheld system and the highest graded copy Heritage has offered. Star Trek: The Deep Space Nine – Crossroads of Time WATA 9.8 A+ for Sega Genesis is based on the TV series and is the highest graded copy in Wata’s pop report.

The comics auction is led by Wizard Magazine #1 CGC 9.8 Wizard File Copy that comes from the publisher’s archives and features Todd McFarlane’s Spider-Man cover. House of Secrets #92 CGC 8.5 contains the origin and first appearance of the Swamp Thing.

Heritage is offering a Joe Jusko Vampirella illustration that showcases his realistic, highly detailed portrait work. Arthur Adams’ Superman preliminary sketch shows the Man of Steel apprehending an alien menace in front of a crowd of onlookers.
