Hake’s Premier Auction #243 Opens March 4

Hake’s Auctions’ next major premier event will open for bids on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Auction #243 is filled with 1,449 lots of pop culture and historical material, led by Star Wars original art pages from the 1970s, action figures, comic keys, rare political items, and much more. The auction will be run for three weeks, closing on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 25-26.

Hake’s is offering a comprehensive group of Star Wars original comic pages, led by a page from the first issue showing Darth Vader Force choking Rear Admiral Motti. Another great piece is the Star Wars Weekly #7 cover by Gil Kane from the UK adaptation, featuring Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca in the garbage compactor. In total, Hake’s has eight pieces of Star Wars original art, including two more Howard Chaykin pages from the six-issue adaptation and two other UK weekly covers.

Star Wars lots continue in the action figure section with a Luke Skywalker 12-back-A AFA 85 with the double-telescoping lightsaber, which is one of just three in the grade. The Palitoy Return of the Jedi Boba Fett Tri-Logo 70-back-B AFA 85 is the single highest graded copy of the French Meccano figure.

Art and toys combine with the Aurora Incredible Hulk and Captain America model kit box lid original art. The comic section is led by Amazing Spider-Man #667 CGC 9.8 JSA Authentic Autograph Gabriele Dell’Otto (1:100 retailer incentive variant) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 CGC 9.2 first printing of the team’s debut appearance.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are also in the toy section with the Sewer Sports All-Stars Slam Dunkin’ and the Giant Size Slam Dunkin’ Donatello hand-painted 1:1 hardcopy prototypes. From the Masters of the Universe toy series, Hake’s has a Snake Mountain Series 3 playset AFA 80+ from the second release.

On the historical/political side, Hake’s is offering an important W.H. Harrison 1840 log cabin hard cider barrel Stoneware bank in cobalt blue and the Bryan & Stevenson Eclipsing McKinley & Roosevelt 1900 jugate button Hake #38.
