The saga of Aric the Visigoth continues. For those looking to catch up on what has happened so far, X-O Manowar: Planet Death is the perfect place to start. Containing issues #9-14 of the monthly title, Planet Death is the third volume in the trade paperback collection of the series. The six-issue arc brings a significant part of the story line to a conclusion while leaving many doors open for the reader to enjoy down the line.

I took a hard look at volumes one and two in this exciting series in a previous Have You Read? Column, and like many, I was thrilled to discover that the title is a tremendously original reboot of the original Valiant title from the 1990s.

Writer Robert Venditti and artist Cary Nord have managed to combine multiple genres into something wild and wonderful to read. From the plains of fifth century Italy to alien worlds and space travel, they never fail as they relate the story of a man out of time.
