During the 30th and 31st centuries, the Legion of Super-Heroes got a superhuman dose of brains and beauty. Created by writer Edmond Hamilton and artist John Forte, Dream Girl, aka Nura Nal, made her DC debut in Adventure Comics #317 (February 1964).

Born on the planet Naltor, where natives are genetically inclined to have precognitive abilities, Nura was the most powerful precog among her people. She possessed the ability to dream with peculiar accuracy, even seeing a few moments into the future while awake, more than any other Naltorian. Despite her exceptional talent, Nura’s beauty often disguised the fact that she was both powerful and brilliant. By the time she reached adulthood she had mastered advanced Naltorian science and held a spot among the galaxy’s intellectual elite. After foreseeing the deaths of several members of the Legion of Super-Heroes, she crafted an elaborate plan to save their lives. One that included joining the team under the code name of Dream Girl.

Upon discovering that the Legionnaires she foresaw dying were actually robot doubles, she left the Legion temporarily and became a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes. Years later, Dream Girl served as Legion leader and led the Legion against one of their greatest challenges: defending the United Planets from an assault by Darkseid. Following the events of the Zero Hour miniseries, which saw the Legion’s continuity rebooted, Nura was no longer a Legionnaire. She also now suffered from narcolepsy, falling unconscious whenever she had a vision. Eventually, this version of the character joined the Legion under the codename Dreamer.
