Comic book artist and writer Ian McGinty died on Thursday, June 8, 2023. His family stated that he died of natural causes, though they did not disclose any further details. McGinty was 38 years old.
McGinty was born on May 6, 1985 in Annapolis, Maryland, and studied art at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Known for his cartoony style, McGinty’s art appeared on comic covers, interiors, pinups, and more. He created Welcome to Showside at Z2, which ran from 2015 to 2016. He also contributed to Adventure Time, Bee and PuppyCat, Bravest Warrior, Invader Zim, and Munchkin.
