Despite the warning from titles like Crime Does Not Pay, the crime comic genre is filled with thieves, swindlers, and ne’er-do-wells all trying to cut corners and make a quick buck. The genre attracts readers who enjoy the complexities of their heists, the twists and turns of their double crosses, and the satisfaction of seeing them brought to justice.

Throughout The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide’s history, publisher Robert M. Overstreet and his team have monitored the collecting market of crime and other genres of comics. Here, we present the top crime comics from 20 years ago, in the Guide #34.
