Joker: Folie à Deux has gotten a new poster that emphasizes the twisted connection between Arthur Fleck/the Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga). The follow up to director Todd Phillips’ psychological thriller, Joker, tells the story of how the Joker and Harley meet inside Arkham Asylum and fall in love. As their madness feeds off of each other, Gotham City goes through its own turmoil as the Joker inspires some citizens to anarchic actions.
The new poster is a closeup of Harley and Joker dancing and looking lovingly into each other’s eyes. He appears in Joker makeup and tuxedo, and she is wearing subtle Joker eye makeup and appears to be in evening wear. Both characters have blood spattered across their faces and throats. The poster also features the tagline “The World is a Stage.”
The latest trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux ventures into the twisted psychosis of the Joker and Harley Quinn, witnessing their blooming relationship and dangerous impact on others. It starts with Arthur Fleck unable to suppress laughter in the back of a police car while radio commentators discuss his status, with some considering him a martyr while others call him a monster. At Arkham Asylum, he meets Harleen Quinzel and is quickly taken with the equally unhinged patient.
Joker: Folie à Deux premieres in theaters on October 4, 2024. The movie also stars Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Ken Leung, Steve Coogan, John Lacy, and Bill Smitrovich.
