Fresh out of prison, Harley Creed returned to his hometown in Briar Falls, West Virginia to take care of some unfinished business, then move on with his life. Unfortunately for Harley, his visit has taken a deadly turn because the Weavers criminal family have put a curse on him. Now, he is destined to die in seven days – unless he kills the one who hexed him, aka Granny Weaver.

The first issue of Mine is a Long Lonesome Grave set up the story, like Harley’s complicated relationship with his daughter and the Weavers’ stranglehold on the town. In this issue by writer Justin Jordan and artist Chris Shehan, the action gets turned way up. There are multiple attacks, and Harley proves to be some kind of country John Wick. It’s wild and intense, and that’s before Shehan peppers in sinister ghostly images that are presumably attached to the curse.
