Misfits Assemble in Thunderbolts* Teaser Trailer

“Careful who you assemble” is the tagline/warning in the first teaser trailer and first poster for Thunderbolts*. Marvel Studios released a nearly three and a half minute trailer that gathers the MCU’s sometime villains for a new team.

The teaser starts with Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) visiting Red Guardian (David Harbour) and while he claims to be happy, she admits to feeling empty. We see Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) walking into an official looking meeting and John Walker (Wyatt Russell) reading an article about his failure as Captain America. Then Yelena takes out a goon squad on her way to what appears to be a secret bunker.

Yelena isn’t the only one on this trail. She, John, Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) engage in a four-way knife and gun fight. In the midst of their battle, Bob (Lewis Pullman) tumbles into the fray – and that’s when they realize it might be a trap. The trailer goes on to show the group in multiple action shots, leading to a meeting with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

Thunderbolts* is directed by Jack Schreier (who is also directing Star Wars: Skeleton Crew), with executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez, and Scarlett Johansson. The movie will be in theaters on May 2, 2025.
