Monarch: Legacy of Monsters NYCC Trailer

During New York Comic Con, Apple TV+ gave Godzilla fans a new look at their upcoming series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Set after Godzilla and the Titans engaged in a worldwide battle, one family will investigate where the monsters came from and how they are connected to the organization known as Monarch.

The trailer recalls the events in 2014’s Godzilla, introducing a young woman named Cate (Anna Sawai) who spots members of Monarch. Determined to learn more about the shadowy organization, she and her brother Kentaro (Ren Watabe) dig into Monarch’s history. This takes them to Army officer Lee Shaw (played in the present by Kurt Russell and in the past by his son Wyatt Russell) who knows secrets about Monarch that go back to his youth.

The 10-episode series comes from Legendary, the producers behind Godzilla vs. Kong, with Chris Black (Severance) as showrunner. It also stars Christopher Heyerdahl, Mari Yamamoto, Qyoko Kudo, Dominique Tipper, and Kiersey Clemons.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will start streaming on Apple TV+ on November 17, 2023.
