The first two volumes in this series collected the Ms. Tree stories from the end of the run, those great issues originally published by DC Comics. By that point, writer Max Allan Collins and artist Terry Beatty were a well-oiled machine and they knew the title character and her supporting players inside and out.
This third volume goes the opposite direction and takes us back to the beginning. It follows Ms. Tree and an unfolding world of secrets, vengeance, and unintended consequences after the death of her husband on their wedding night. It’s 204 pages of great crime comics.
