New Highlights in ComicConnect Event Auction
ComicConnect is now in the midst of Event Auction 61 and they are still adding more vintage comics, original art, rare pulps, and memorabilia from across the comic ages.
Event Auction 61’s collection of Golden Age keys already included Wonder Woman #1 8.0. Now there’s also the Amazon’s debut in All Star Comics #8, paired with Batman (in his second cover appearance) meeting his first supervillain in Detective Comics #29. Early Superman covers have the Man of Steel catching a train on Joe Shuster’s cover for Action Comics #13, and Jack Burnley’s patriotic hero posing for Superman #24. Plus, there are pre-Code scares from Bill Everett’s skeletal wedding for Journey Into Mystery #6 and L.B. Cole’s colorfully creepy Startling Terror Tales #11.
The new Silver Age finds include Amazing Fantasy #15 2.0, Amazing Spider-Man #1 9.4 and 2.5, and Avengers #11 9.6 with Jack Kirby’s cover. Newly added Bronze Age keys are Wolverine’s debut in Incredible Hulk #181 9.0, joining another copy at 9.2, and more high grade finds like Blade’s debut in Tomb of Dracula #10 9.8.
Event Auction 61 also added more original comic art like Andy Kubert Captain America #21 cover from 1998 with Captain America in the path of a plane crash. Todd McFarlane reunites Wolverine with Wendigo on a brutal page from Spider-Man #10, while Jim Starlin revisits Jack Kirby’s alien Klagg for a ‘70s updating from Where Monsters Dwell #20.
