The Suicide Squad begins a new mission in issue #13. There’s a new drug on the market that not only gets people high but temporarily gives them a superhuman ability. What begins as an undercover meeting to learn where drugs are being stockpiled turns into all hell breaking loose as Captain Boomerang manages to tip off the drug dealers. But now, it’s not just Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and Parasite in the field. Amanda Waller is in the field too.

For a while now hints have been dropped regarding some nefarious plot with ties to the thorn in Waller’s side in the form of Vic Sage. In this issue, written by Sean Ryan, Waller starts putting the pieces together. Meanwhile Deadshot is medicating to make up for the pain in his still healing arm, which is throwing his aim off, and Harley is on the verge of a psychotic break after traumatizing the children during their last mission.

Suicide Squad has improved over the last few issues, and this new story is off to a good start. Philippe Briones’ art and Blond’s colors made it very exciting, filled with kinetic energy and the rough, down and dirty action you expect from the Suicide Squad.
