After discovering the dead body of their favorite superhero in the woods near their home, the mismatched group of kids decide to give her a proper burial. Unfortunately for them, her body went missing in the time they were at school, further deepening the mystery surrounding the events of her death. Though Diane, Mie and Ray accept that the body disappeared, Mike and Teddy have other things in mind.

This twist on a superhero story has been a thoroughly enjoyable read, and though at first glance it may appear to be borrowing a lot from Stand By Me, it’s much deeper than that. The conflicts between many of the characters, particularly the rift between Diane and Mie, seem to be coming to a head, and the thing that Teddy is attempting to pull off looks as though it’s setting up for something big. Longtime fans of hero-focused books will find a lot to love here.
