RETRO REVIEW: Dark Dominion #1

Springing from the #0 trading card set origin issue created by Jim Shooter and Steve Ditko, Dark Dominion #1 continues the story of writer Michael Alexander, who by setting aside his fears learns that another reality exists alongside our own. He stands against Chasm, whose monsters and parasites feed off the fears of the people of our world.

Written by Len Wein, penciled by Joe James, and colored by Tim Perkins, the story showcases Michael’s ability to see the forces from the quantum world that are driving negative behaviors for so many. There’s lots of philosophical thinking in this one, but there’s a ton of action to balance it out.

A solid, accessible, entertaining read, and it won’t cost you much in the back issue bins. Track it down.
